To Reach the Promised Land


  • Are you looking for God?
  • Would you like to meet God as a Father, and Jesus as your personal Saviour?
  •  Are you only a nominal Christian, quite indifferent to the things of the spirit?
  • Or are you an habitual believer, living a routine Christianity, with the only purpose of deserving heaven?
  • Or, still more, do you have a good relationship with God, but deep into your heart you feel that there might be much, much more for youself and for  other people?

If you do wish to live a fulfilled life of which to be spiritually  satisfied, it is necessary fist to understand our true  human reality and the world we live in.

Without pretending to succeed in the  ambitious intent of explaining such ideas, we will just try to exemplify some indispensable points in order to start this sort of voyage toward the Promised Land. For the Israelites it was a geographical land, but for us Christian it is a spiritual land in which we will see realized God’s promises revealed in the Scripture. It is a walk that will lead us to live a victorious Christian life.

THE WAY, OR RATHER THE WALK TOWARDS GOD

In the Early Church, Christianity was called THE WAY, to mean a progressive walk  with an exact starting point, that must lead to a clearly defined goal..

Now we need to understand which is the real starting point, which the way to  walk and what the goal to be reached.

Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. He has come to invite us to

FALL IN LOVE WITH THE LIVING GOD


We will therefore realize the need to understand that, if we really want to know God and His ways,  we cannot limit ourselves to participate to an initiation ceremony and to say every now and then some prayers, expecting automatic results..

When we reach the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, often considered as a goal, we have just come to the starting point of our voyage. The WALK is all in front of us. Before we were in the pit, and could not take any effective steps towards God.  Now we need  to provide solid, biblical foundations to our spiritual building. Without foundations our spiritual building will collapse at the first obstacles, as we  will not be in a position to use the several instruments supplied by God.

After that, we can deepen in God’s knowledge, learn His ways and experience our first victories, keeping in mind that there is no victory without a previous battle, and that it is a pure dream to think of short-cuts or ways out.

 But Jesus already won the world also for you, and He wants you to be to experience His victory. To His followers He promised a joy that nobody could take away from them; He promised physical and mental health and an abundant life. But on His conditions. We only need to walk in His ways in faith, and to follow His teachings.

God loves you, and He wants you to be happy also in this present life. Come on! Open yourself to Him!
